ICT in Schools & K-Yan

IL&FS Education utilises educational technology to enhance outreach and improve the quality of education. We leverage the Computer Aided Learning (CAL) scheme under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and integrate the latest in technology with learning and training needs. We offer holistic and comprehensive solutions in the fields of pre-primary, elementary, secondary and higher education using Information Communication Technology (ICT) tools.

We recognise and address the need for comprehensive IT solutions for schools and strongly believe in using ICT (Information Communication Technology) tools in education and thus, integrating technology in education The use of ICT is playing a significant role in contributing quality teaching, learning and evaluation through improvements in cognition, pedagogies, convergence, culture, and data. We have been progressively imparting education through ICT across India

We are working actively with state governments to deliver interactive teaching and learning environment in the classroom, through hardware based lab solutions. With the aid of innovative technology platform like K-Yan, various schools have been able to address the issue of shortage of quality teachers

K-Yan (Knowledge Yan) is a compact ICT tool that has been developed by IL&FS Education in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. K-YAN is an integrated community computer, which can work a computer, projector, television and can be also used for internet research. K-Yan supports multiple peripherals and enables interactive learning in English as well as in various regional languages including Urdu, Hindi, Marathi, Telegu, Tamil, and Kannada

IL&FS Education has been played a significant role in:

  • Implementation of CAL across 5920 Schools in Gujarat
  • Implementation of K-Yan aided intelligent classroom in 628 secondary and senior secondary schools in Himachal Pradesh
  • Implementation of CAL across 244 Government Schools in Bihar
  • Installation of K-Yan preloaded with interactive multimedia content mapped to the state curriculum for 200 government schools in West Bengal
  • Implementation of CAL through K-Yan and customised multimedia content mapped to local curriculum in 66 residential Schools under SC-ST Welfare Department, Government of Bihar
