IL&FS Education helps Indira Priyadarshini Children's Library to Enhance Reading Habits of Gen Next

Karnataka: IL&FS Education has joined hands with Karnataka Knowledge Commission for Odhuputaani, an exclusive renovation programme for Indira Priyadarshini Children's Library (IPCL). The word Odhuputaani in its literary sense means ' Come on and read child' and on similar notes, this project aims to encourage children to use libraries, participate in workshops to enhance their knowledge.

IL&FS Education is playing a very significant role as an implementation partner with the Karnataka Knowledge Commission for this project. IL&FS has been conducting training programmes for teachers to help them understand the concept of using ICT based pedagogic methods to impart lessons to the children. IL&FS has been also conducting creative and innovative workshops for children.

IL&FS has also provided furniture, attractive stationery kits, SmartKits, interactive posters and class cards to make teaching and learning fun. IL&FS has also introduced the concept of using K-YAN, the community computer for dissemination of information to the students on new concepts.

IL&FS is also conducting capacity building training programme for the school librarians, sensitising them on various issues including library administration, book classification and inculcating reading habits in children for effective and efficient management.

IL&FS has been involved in complete modification of the Indira Priyadarsh​ini Childrens' Library. IL&FS is also conducting various training programmes for the staff/school teachers of the library.
